John Donald, the inventor of robotic falcon and owner of the Scottish company Robop, has been a victim of cybercrime, in which he has lost more than 100,000 euros i.e. more than 89 lakh 45 thousand rupees.
According to international media reports, John Donald still does not believe that he has become a victim of cybercrime. John, 72, told BBC Scotland that he was the target of fraudsters when his family business was losing 95 per cent.
He said that at first he was suspicious, but then he accepted the demands of online fraudsters and transferred about 100,000 euros to his stated bank account.
He also said that I was so depressed that my wife was convinced that I had suffered from a mental disorder.
Data released by Scotland Police shows that fraud has increased by 68% since 2018 and 17,000 cases were recorded in 2022, with a large number of online frauds.
